Interesting facts:
American Bandstand was a television show in the 50's hosted and produced by Dick Clark. It began as a local program on October 7, 1952. Originally hosted by Bob Horn, it was called Bob Horn's Bandstand. When the host was changed to Dick Clark, it was renamed to its famous name American Bandstand. It wasn't national until August 1957.

Historical analysis:
American Bandstand was an extremely popular program that hosted some of the most talented (and apparently, some of the not so talented) bands. People would lip-synch to songs and the Philadelphia teenagers would dance on the show. The show popularized new dance moves and rock and roll music.
